WHAT IS CHRONIC COUGH?

Cough is a reflex of the human body as a result of diseases such as colds and flu. Under normal conditions, the cough of the individual whose disease has recovered should also be stopped.

But some individuals' cough may persist for months. These coughs can be a harbinger of a much bigger disease.

WHO HAS A CHRONIC COUGH?

If you have a chronic cough, you should be worried; Your persistent cough can be caused by diseases such as lung cancer, throat cancer, COPD, tuberculosis and heart failure. If you have a chronic, persistent cough, you should consult a specialist without losing time.

Smoking is one of the leading factors that cause chronic cough. Individuals who smoke can have persistent coughing attacks many times during the day due to smoking. These persistent coughs can even wake a person from sleep.

Asthma can cause chronic cough. Asthma patients may experience coughing attacks when they engage in activities that tire them too much and when they sweat a lot. Chronic cough is also seen in individuals with reflux disease.

WAYS TO GET RID OF CHRONIC COUGH

If you smoke, quitting smoking will be the most logical solution. Chronic cough is only a signal. Our body warns us by giving some signals in such situations. If we listen to these warnings and take the necessary precautions, we will have a much healthier life.

Asthma patients should stay away from activities that will overtire them. One of the conditions that leads to coughing attacks is excessive sweating. Therefore, the best sport for asthma patients is swimming. Especially sea water is very useful for asthma patients.

Reflux patients should stay away from foods that will trigger their reflux. Avoiding the consumption of coffee, alcohol, bitter and spicy foods are measures that can be taken for stubborn cough.
