Microbiology Laboratory

Last Update: 07/10/2024

In the microbiology laboratory, microorganisms, which are the causative agents of infection, are detected by culture methods, serological tests or direct examinations. Microbiology laboratories of our hospitals work with the latest technological bacteria identification and antibiogram methods and work in a way that can make aerob and anaerobic identification for all kinds of bacteria. Advanced antigenic diagnostic methods for viruses are used actively and routinely, with culture and direct diagnosis methods for the agents of fungal and parasitic infections.

Established for this purpose, EKM was established to prevent the use of inappropriate antibiotics, to control hospital staff for continuous training, to control waste and to perform hospital cleaning with the most up-to-date methods, and this committee is chaired by the Infectious Diseases Specialist.
